Alternative Agriculture at Home and Abroad
Research into sustainable farming practices and products make up approximately half of Pacific Ag Group's business and ongoing activities.

We serve as consultants to some of the largest organic farming operations in California and Arizona. In addition, competitive research grants from state and federal Departments of Agriculture have funded some of our research into ways of maximizing organic production, with special emphasis on strawberries, and leafy and fruiting vegetables.

insect predator implementation

We conduct ongoing studies of pesticide alternatives, natural products for pest control, biological control organisms, and other alternative farming methods.

Pacific Ag Group provides:

  • Plant breeding for pest tolerance

  • Implementation of organic technology

  • On-site demonstrations of alternative farming methods

  • Alternative strawberry nursery production without soil fumigation

  • Educational seminars and workshops

Problem solving in organic farming of high cash crops, is a constant priority. For the organic farmer interested in disease and pest control, alternative tolerant crop varieties, effective natural controls, and use of approved natural products are the front line of defense. Because we farm ourselves, we understand real-world solutions to pest management challenges under certified organic guidelines.

Pacific Ag Group is well known as a private and confidential source of information, on alternatives to conventional foliar pest controls and the controversial soil fumigant, methyl bromide. This expertise comes from over 10 years as a leader in non-methyl bromide fumigated strawberry and tomato production, using alternative ozone-safe chemicals, and specific organic methodologies. Pacific Ag has helped develop numerous new certified organic pest control and fertility products for small to medium sized manufacturers. Many times these products begin as crude extracts or fermentation products with limited use potential. Following our well planned and executed field development and registration program, today, many of these products are refined and effectively used by growers throughout the organic farming sector. This ag-industry and product marketplace is increasing at an average rate of 20% per year, and represents the only agricultural sector with this level of growth internationally.
